That is why there is no doubt that many people prefer their leaders to be educated. Thankfully, there are plenty of highly educated politicians out there who are serving the masses in South Sudan. It is important to know the most academically qualified politicians of our time. Here are the 10 most educated politicians in the Republic of South Sudan.
1. Francis Mading Deng.
Francis Mading Deng is a South Sudanese Politician who served in various capacities in Sudan and South Sudan. He is the first South Sudanese Permanent Representative to the United Nations. Dr. Francis is the number one most educated politician in South Sudan. He has a bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Khartoum. He earned both Masters of Law and a Doctor of Juridical Science from Yale University, United States.
2. Lam Akol
Dr. Lam Akol is the second most educated politician in South Sudan. He got his undergraduate degree from the University of Khartoum. He also has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Imperial College London, London, United Kingdom.
3. Majak D’ Agot
Majak Agot is the third most educated person in South Sudan. He has Masters of Science in Security Sector Management from Canfield University, Masters of Arts in War Studies from King’s College London. Dr. Majak also has a Ph.D. in Financial Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London.
4. Barnaba Marial Benjamin
Dr. Benjamin has professional training in medicine and diplomacy. He studied Premedical Sciences at the University of Khartoum and graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Cairo, Egypt. Also, he studied Hygiene and Tropical medicine at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Also, he studied Diplomacy and International Relations at the University of South Africa.
5. Mayiik Ayii Deng
Mayiik Ayii comes in the 5th position of the most educated South Sudanese politicians. Mayiik has professional training in International Relations and diplomacy. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and History from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, United States. He also holds a Masters of Arts in Management from Saint Mary’s University, Minnesota, United States.
6. John Gai Yoh
Dr. John Gai Yoh is a South Sudanese political scientist and politician. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon and Masters degree from the same University. John also has a Ph.D. in International Politics from the University of South Africa in South Africa.
7. Riek Machar Teny
Riek Machar is a South Sudanese politician who holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Khartoum. And Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom.
8. Akuei Bona Malual
A career diplomat, Akuei Bona is the current permanent Representative of South Sudan to the United Nations. Akuei holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, United States, and a Master of Arts from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in the United States.
9. Nhial Deng Nhial
Nhial Deng is a South Sudanese Attorney and Politician. He has a bachelor of Law from the University of Khartoum. He also has a Master of Law from the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom.
10. Deng Deng Hoc Yai
Deng Deng is an educationalist and politician who obtained his bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Cairo University in Egypt. He also has a Masters degree from the University of Bedfordshire in the United Kingdom.
11. Beatrice Kamisa Wani
Beatrice Kamisa is a South Sudanese Politician and Diplomat. She has a Masters of Arts in international relations from the United States International University in Nairobi Kenya. She also postgraduate diploma in Land and Water Management from Cranfield Institute of Technology in the United Kingdom.
