NAIROBI, Kenya — A Nairobi businesswoman has appealed for help after claiming a man fled with $6,000 she had lent him to support his family in Nairobi, she told The Juba Mirror, Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025.

Achol Abuk, a single mother of five, said she loaned the money to businessman Malual Mayom Tulba, who promised to repay it with interest. However, Abuk said Mayom later stopped communicating and has since refused to return the money.

“He came to my house asking for financial help to restart his car business in Nairobi and Juba,” Abuk said. “I trusted him, but now I’m facing many challenges as a single mother raising my children alone.”

Abuk alleged that Mayom is now living a lavish lifestyle despite failing to settle his debt.
