Woman attempt to burn her husband’s educational certificates in Aweil

Police in Aweil East, Northern Bahr El Ghazal state are investigating a 31-year old woman who attempted to burn her husband’s educational certificates this due to the lack of job for 5 years after graduation.

A woman whose her name withheld said her husband claimed to be educated but he’s not able to secure a job in many years since he graduated.

”You claim to be educated and I wonder why you don’t work in so many years while you have these certificates, so I better burn them to be like any others who have not gone to school”

She further said her husband has not been able to provide food and other basic essential materials to the family. The incident happened this afternoon and it’s first of its kind in Aweil.

In South Sudan many young graduates are not able to secure jobs after their studies due to limited available jobs and lack of factories.
