Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!

The announcement comes after the couple were forced to quarantine when aide Hope Hicks contracted the virus.
Bloomberg News reported earlier on that Hicks who travelled with the president to and from the first presidential debate in Cleveland this week tested positive and the Trumps were being forced to quarantine while waiting their test results.
A memo has been released this evening by the Physician to the president, Sean P. Conley, confirming that president Trump and First Lady Melania have tested positive to COVID-19 and that they will start their quarantine and recovery process effective immediately.
The results came less than 24 hours after President Trump made fun of Presidential candidate Joe Biden during their first presidential debate in Cleveland.
President Trump bragged about the fact that he does not wear a mask and he continued to hold large rallies where 35, 000 to 40, 000 people would attend without taking COVID-19 measures seriously.
Speaking to media before the test results were returned the deputy press secretary of the White House, Judd Deere, said “the President takes the health and safety of himself and everyone who works in support of him and the American people very seriously.”
He added that “White House Operations collaborates with the Physician to the President and the White House Military Office to ensure all plans and procedures incorporate current CDC guidance and best practices for limiting COVID-19 exposure to the greatest extent possible both on complex and when the President is traveling.”
