SSPDF ARMY GENERALS LINKED WITH SORGHUM SCANDALS IN AWEIL.

Police in NBGs arrested two people and confiscated 1, 280 sacks of Sorghum.

The food items were consficated from South sudanese company called MAKPACCO.

The food was allegedly said to be distributed to people in Aweil as seeds.

The minister of Agriculture Anei Deng Akok says his office was not aware of the planned seeds distribution.

Police spokesperson captian Guot Guot Akol says they have confiscated documents containing the details.

Guot says they are investigating the source of this matter

” we want to know who is behind this deal. The issue involved is that, the food items were mixed with toxic acid which is very harmful to our citizens”.

In response, the head of MAKPACCO company in Aweil Mrs Anina Sharon says

“we were contracted by UNFAO to supply food items in Aweil and Wau. The ministry of Agriculture in Juba was informed of the initiative”

Meanwhile the Director General in the ministry of Agriculture in NBGs Mr. Beda Ding William Amoi added that

“we have asked the minister of Agriculture in Juba whether they know anything in thia but said no”.

Efforts to reach the UNFAO office in Aweil for comment were unsucceasful.
