RELEASE ARBITRARILY IMPRISONED MABOR MAKUAC WHO IS FACING IMMINENT RISK OF BEATING BY GEN. MAJAK AKEC PERSONAL BODYGUARDS IN PRISON.

The IGP Gen. Majak Akec and Minister of Interior Mahmoud Solomon have arbitrary arrest former Commissioner of Rumbek East County Mabor Makuac over fabricated audio detailing and accusing him of attacking the two government officials over the stagnated issues in the county and state.

Mabor Makuac is a prisoner of conscience targeted solely for this fabricated audio where he is blanketed as the author and is now at imminent risk of serious beating through the orders of the IGP in Rock City, Juba. We call on the authorities to immediately and unconditionally release Mabor and charge him through a judicial system so that his unjust imprisonment is heard and ensures he is protected from all forms of torture and other ill-treatment, including beatings.

“To arrest a former commissioner over an alleged crime he didn’t commit is unacceptable and we are calling for truth and justice on Mabor Makuac. The IGP and the minister shouldn’t use their powers to restrain someone like Mabor Makuac from his right to speak on matters concerning Rumbek East County.
