Nyandeng Kerbino Kuanyin attacked last night, police say it was a land-grabbing incident.
Nyandeng Kerbino Kuanyin, the late Kerbino Kuanyin Bol’s wife, was attacked in her home in Thongpiny last night by unidentified armed men.
According to Nyandeng, the gunmen attacked the house from two directions and began shooting at one of the security guards stationed at the gate, forcing him to dive and roll in the compound before he could get his gun to exchange bullets with the attackers.
She claimed that no one was hurt, but that following the gunfire, three young men from organized forces, including her son, were taken to their facilities by the joint operation.
A suspected criminal is said to have jumped over Nyandeng’s walled fence into her compound two weeks ago and was detained after being injured on foot by a nail while jumping in the compound, but after being interrogated, the young man confessed he was sent and those who sent him will come, and Mama Nyandeng’s house was attacked last night.
When contacted by Talk of Juba, Deputy Police Spokesman James Dak Karlo confirmed a shooting incident occurred at Thongpiny American Residence and that it was a ‘land grabbing case.’
“The Governor of Central Equatoria State has ordered the demolition of all illegal structures in the area because the shooting was a land-grabbing case,” Dak told Talk of Juba over the phone.
