Minister of Health says her monthly salary is SSP10K, urges doctors to work for free

Minister of Health Elizabeth Achuei has urged doctors and health workers in the country to offer voluntary services to citizens even if it’s for free.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of Leadership and good governance conference on Friday, Achuei said that doctors have to deal with the little they have.

“I don’t see the reason why people complain of lack of funding and support.meanwhile there are other thing we can do without any support from partners, we should appreaciate the small amount of money we are getting right now. like for me I am getting SSP10,000.’ she said.

She called on doctors to deliver services even if they have to do it voluntary.
