Military Governor of Lakes state Rin condemns banditry attacks in Rumbek North County

This morning at 5: a.m East African Times, suspected armed youths from Warap State launched an attack on Rumbek North County, Maper. The government of Lakes State is deeply horrified by the degree of this horrific violence by the said youths which resulted to burning down of houses to ashes, destroying properties, scores injured and lives loss.

The government of Lakes State condamns devastative attacks that destroyed valuable infrastructures and displaced many. He urges neighborhood youths from Warrap State to refrain from such attacks. The statement further calls on Warrap State authorities to bring those responsible to account.
“The government of Lakes State strongly condemns this act and is in close touch with her neighbouring State which upholds right to property, protection of lives and urges Warap State government to hold those responsible accountable”, he said.
Governor Rin calls for an immediate deployment of security forces to de-escalate the situation. He continues requesting the humanitarian agencies to provide medecins, water and shelters to the displaced persons.
“As a matter of urgency, your government is doubling its muscles to access and deploy extra security forces to restore hope. We also appeal to our humanitarian partners to provide basics needs like medicines, Water and shelters to those who got wounded and displaced”.
“Finally, the government of Lakes State is urging its sisterly State to act swiftly to deter further attacks from her youths and bring those responsible to book”, he concludes.
