LAKES STATE’S GOV’T DONATES 50 MOTORBIKES TO SECURITY PERSONNEL

Authorities in Lakes State have undertaken an initiative dubbed “SPLM Road Safety Initiative” and donated around 50 motorcycles to security forces in a bid to reduce rampant insecurity in the state.

“Governor of Lakes State distributed 50 motorcycles to security organs to curve insecurity along main road that connects State to capital Juba,” said Mayor Muou Adhor, Press secretary in the Office of the governor.

“The governor of Lakes State, Hon Makur Kulang Liei has launched what he called SPLM Road Safety Initiative. This came amidst of distribution of motorcycles to the security organs in the State to patrol main road which connected the State to the nation’s capital Juba.”

The governor, who is also the interim chairman of the state’s ruling party, said that providing security along the main roads is very important and should not wait for the national government to address it.

The 50 motorcycles will be tasked with a role to deal with the criminal gangs who have been creating insecurity and carried out criminals activities along the road at night.

According to the governor’s office, the 50 motorcycles will be used to ease the movements of security personnel while dealing with criminal gangs who create insecurity and carry out criminal activities along the road at night.
