Gunmen suspected to be from General Cirilo’s rebel group kill 4 traders along Juba-Yei road

The incident happened between Bungu and Ganji Payams of Juba County.

At least four traders were killed along Juba-Yei road in South Sudan by suspected members of  the National Salvation Front (NAS) led by General Thomas Cirillo on Sunday.

The incident happened between Bungu and Ganji Payams of Juba County.

Aggrey Cyrus, Yei River County of Central Equatoria State told a reporter of Sudans Post that traders were removed from their car and killed in cold blood by suspected members of NAS.

There are reports that four people were killed yesterday at around 1 PM. They were travelling in three cars, and the drivers were removed from the car and killed,” Cyrus told Sudans Post on Monday.

Cyrus accused the National Salvation Front of being beyond the killing.

“I am not so sure about the speculation of whoever is responsible or beyond the attack but I believe for the last two to three months, the incidents that happened on the road are instigated by the National Salvation Front,” he  claimed.

“We don’t have any other suspicion besides the National Salvation Front because the area where this incident happened is under their control,” he added.

He revealed that efforts are underway to deploy security forces to mitigate insecurities along the road.

“We have been coordinating and discussing with the commissioner of Juba County the best ways on how to handle these insecurities that emerged in recent days,” he said.
