GOVERNOR EMMANUEL BRIEFS PRESIDENT KIIR ON THE GENERAL SECURITY SITUATION OF THE STATE
The Governor of Central Equatoria state, Hon.Emmanuel Adil Anthony has this afternoon of Wednesday briefed President Kiir on the general security situation of the state as normal with few pockets of insecurity reported in the past few weeks of the month as triggered by some anti-Peace elements.
The briefing explicitly was centered on the security situation along the common borders of Central Equatoria State,and Uganda as well as the general situation across the state in the phase of the implementation of the revitalized peace deal.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Hon. Emmanuel Adil Anthony said that he briefed President kiir on his recent engagement with the Ugandan counterpart on border security, border trading along their common border, peaceful settlement(dignified return of the refugees in the camping sites)border demarcations and re-opening of the roads that are linking Uganda and South Sudan economically.
Hon.Governor Emmanuel also briefed president kiir on the security situation along the highways of Juba-Yei,Juba-Kajo-Keji and Juba-Nimule in which president kiir and Governor Emmanuel agreed to beefed up security vigilancy along the highways as a way of curtailing any security related threats to the road users along these highways and allow unhindered access of humanitarian organizations across the state.
Hon.Governor Adil further briefed president kiir on the banditry activities of the NAS elements which are destructive in nature and urged the National Salvation Front forces to desist from violence and join the peace process as one way of salvaging the suffering of the innocent citizens across the state.
Conclusively,Governor Emmanuel Adil urged the neighbouring communities of South Sudan(Central Equatoria State) and Uganda to remain calm and coexist peacefully until the borders are well demarcated; noting that anti-peace elements do terrorize citizens at the extreme ends of Kajo-Keji, Kaya and Yei respectively.
This very meeting was attended by the Minister of Presidential Affairs,Hon.Dr.Barnaba Marial Benjamin.
