FIVE PEOPLE CONFIRMED DEAD IN AN AMBUSH ALONG THE JUBA NIMULE HIGHWAY
16th August 2021 ( Kubi-CES )…… Five people are now known to have died in a deadly ambush a long the Juba-Nimule Highway on a Monday morning.
2 Catholic Nuns from the Congregation of the Sacred Heart Sisters , 2 men and 1 bodaboda rider who was knocked down by a speeding truck, which was running away from the scene.
The passengers were returning from Loa after attending the Centenary Celebration of the Catholic Mission in the area
The incident happened few kilometers away from Kubi village in Central Equatoria State.
The Governor of Eastern Equatoria State Gen. Louis Lobong Lojore who was traveling from Nimule to Juba, and his guards helped retrieve the bodies from the bush.
Governor Louis Lobong Lojore had transported the body of Sr. Mary Aboud to Juba. And Sr. Regina Roba who was rushed to Nimule, died on the way before reaching the Hospital.
The Governor condemned in the strongest terms possible the barbaric act meted on the innocent travellers.
The Official commended Tiger forces, National Security Service men, MI and the Police Force for quickly arriving at the scene and mounted a search to clear the area of the criminals.
The celebration of 100 years of the Catholic Faith in Madi land was attended by President Salva Kiir Mayardit and other senior Government Officials.
It is worth noting that the Sunday Centenary celebration of Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Loa was done in a peaceful atmosphere.
Security forces have arrested three suspects and they have been taken for questioning. They were found close to the scene of the incident.
