First and foremost, I take this opportunity to thank H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit for the trust and support he has rendered to me during my tenure of 3 years as the Managing Director (MD) of Nile Petroleum Corporation (NILEPET). As an insider who was promoted from the position of Deputy MD to the top position and having served under four (4) Mds, my tenure recognized both enabling and constraining aspects of our national oil giant from its onset. As such, many projects jumped to the forefront of NILEPET’s agenda (i.e. liberalization of fuel market, building of new headquarters (HQs), commissioning of Bentiu Refinery, acquisition of service rigs, becoming an operator, etc.).
Your Excellency, it has been a great honor to me to serve under your able leadership in one of most important government parastatals. It is through your guidance and support to me and my colleagues in NILEPET that we have been able to excel in what was assigned to us. I am forever grateful to you.
Secondly, I congratulate my colleague Eng. Bol Ring Muorwel for having won your trust leading to his appointment as the MD of NILEPET. Having served as Director General for Downstream and President for Nile Drilling Services Co. Ltd (NILEPET’s subsidiary), Eng. Bol brings along with him a wealth of experience in the oil sector and an impeccable institutional memory relevant to his new assignment.
Nation building is a process and as such, change of assignment for all public post holders is not only inevitable, but imminently desirable to inject new blood and energy.
My steadfastness in supporting your able leadership, irrespective of the position I hold, will unquestionably be demonstrated.
