Dr. Victoria Anib being fought over reform agenda, health officials

Some of the officials within the National Ministry of Health have confessed that Dr. Victoria Anib Majur, the embattled Undersecretary in the institution is being fought over reforms agenda.

Previously, corruption and financial embezzlements have topped the headlines in the Ministry since the pandemic broke out.

This made it possible for the Ministry to remain on transition up to date coupled with two weeks wrangle over Undersecretary’s ordered directive.

Dr. Chang who want to be identified only for that name due to security reason said the current Undersecretary was being fought for reform agenda.

“This is just a simple thing but what I know is that Madam Victoria might be getting all these retaliations because of her position to reimaged the Ministry,” he said in an interview on Wednesday.

“She recently assigned right personnel to the right positions per their qualifications, which I appreciate myself but most of the people within the health sector do not understand the logic,”

After the workforce at Juba Teaching Hospital went on strike recently, the Undersecretary was able to attend to the demands and get incentives increased since the Minister was away on government mission.

This later angered the Minister especially why the decision was made in her absentia.

But the Undersecretary was instructed by the Vice President for Service Cluster Hussein Abdalbagi Akol whom the Minister Achuei report to, a fact which was explained to Achuei and she never understood.
Another Doctor said the problem was a minor issue which was supposed to be discussed at the level of the Ministry.

“I don’t see any reason why it is on media but maybe there are people who have their interests in the crisis,”he added.

But when contacted for comment, Hon: Elizabeth Achuei Yol said she was not ready to speak to the media.
