SPLM/A IO accepts Election with or without Security Arrangement but needs political space to mobilize their supporters.

After month of rejection to the 2023 General Election, SPLM/A IO finally acknowledge the election with condition that they need political space to exercise their political freedom such as mobilization of people and resources for the upcoming general election.

Coming Month FVP Dr. Riek Machar will attend a retreat meeting with President Salva Kiir Mayardit in Kampala to set date and agree on some of the contentious issues with his counterparts President Salva Kiir regarding upcoming general election.

Dr. Riek and his political party accepted election but on condition that they need political space and freedom to exercise their political rights across the country.

SPLM IG Senior official said “No one comment on the Security Arrangement on whether the country will go to the election without unified forces because Presidency had agreed to graduate the unified forces as soon as possible”.
