Juba, June 18, 2025 β President Salva Kiir Mayardit has directed the new Governor of Central Equatoria State, Rabi Mujung Emmanuel, to govern with integrity, fairness, and a strong commitment to national unity.
The President issued this directive on Wednesday during the official swearing-in ceremony of Governor Mujung, urging him to work closely with security agencies to ensure peace and stability across Central Equatoria, especially in the capital, Juba.
President Kiir tasked Governor Mujung with the responsibility of ensuring the equitable distribution of land to meet the needs of Jubaβs rapidly growing population. He emphasized the importance of allocating land for residential development, investment, and government infrastructure.
In a firm tone, the President warned against the ongoing issue of land grabbing, stating that the practice continues to fuel division among communities.
He also cautioned against ethnic divisions, calling on South Sudanese to embrace one another in the collective effort to build a peaceful and cohesive nation.
Furthermore, President Kiir directed the state government to prioritise the rehabilitation of Jubaβs poor road network, noting that quality infrastructure is essential to development and effective service delivery.
For his part, Governor Mujung expressed his readiness to implement the Presidentβs key policy directives to ensure peace and prosperity in Central Equatoria.
