The SSPM/A condemns the recent horrific violence targeting innocent civilians across the country.
These acts constitute grave human rights violations and atrocities demanding immediate attention and accountability.
We condemn in the strongest possible terms the killing of innocent civilians in Fangak County, perpetrated by Aguelek militia groups.
The deliberate targeting of non-combatants is an abhorrent violation of fundamental human rights and international humanitarian law.
We equally condemn the brutal attack on the Panaru people by unknown armed groups. Such violence against communities, regardless of the perpetrators’ identity, sows terror, inflicts suffering, and undermines the fragile peace and stability of the country.
Furthermore, we denounce the ongoing bombardment of innocent civilians in parts of Jonglei, Upper Nile, Warrap, and Unity States. Indiscriminate shelling and aerial attacks in populated areas are unacceptable acts that cause widespread death, injury, displacement, and destruction of civilian property.
These actions demonstrate a blatant disregard for human life and the laws of war.
We appeal to the international community to intensify pressure on the regime to end the violence and launch credible investigations, and uphold human rights and international law.
We stand in solidarity with the victims and demand justice and protection.
