RUWENG Β The Government of Ruweng Administrative Area has strongly condemned a midnight cattle raid carried out by armed youth militia from neighboring Unity State. The incident occurred at approximately 12:00 a.m. in Pan-lou, within Panrieng municipality, where more than 1,000 heads of cattle were reported stolen.
In a statement released to The Juba Mirror by Hon. Monylang Minyiel, Ruweng’s minister for agriculture and acting minister for information, culture, youth and sports, authorities confirmed that local youth mobilized to pursue the raiders and recover the stolen livestock. During the clashes, three individuals were reportedly killed, and some of the cattle were recovered. Efforts to retrieve the remaining animals are ongoing.
βThe raiders have been identified as elements affiliated with Division 4,β the statement noted.
