Authorities  in Tonj East County confirmed  62  people dead and 36 other wounded in Tonj East County clashes .

The government of warrap state has released confirmation and condemnation message for the killing of 62 people and 36 wounded in Tonj East county over communal conflict clashes between Luanjang and Jalwau communities of Tonj East county of Warrap state between May 28th and may 29th 2025 .

In a press statement release today in Kuajok the newly appointed Warrap state minister of information and communication services,Mamer Bath Marol has confirmed the killing of 62 people including 20 women and 36 other sustained serious injuries, destruction of properties Worth million of south Sudanese pound and over 30,000 house holds displaced from their respective villages.

Mamer is calling upon the conflicting communities of Tonj to maintaining peace and harmony as one people and assured the public especially victims of this useless violence and the government of warrap state will investigate the root causes of the incident and hold the perpetrators accountable.
