Dear President Salva Kiir, you have an unfinished business. Do not tire. Like I said in my recent open letter, unfortunately, you only cut off the tail of the putsch snake, Gen. Akol Koor, leaving the head, Brig. Napoleon Adok.
Adok has been desperately trying to withstand your political castration spree for the past week.
Plans to depose you are evident in the numerous writings on the walls. And below are some of them:
Adok has turned to black propaganda to divert attention and persuade you to reinstate Gen. Akol, the missing piece of the puzzle.
Hired attack dogs, including active members of opposition parties that signed the September 2018 peace accord, carry out this task.
The Adok-sponsored propaganda, which I would like to refer to as ‘propadoka’ (derived from propaganda and Adok), is simple: use the Bahr el Ghazal card to lure sympathies from the region.
A document suggesting that Tearz Ayuen, Deng Bol Aruai, Dr. Peter Biar Ajak, Garang John, and the Caucus Forum (association of drinking buddies) supplied the UN Penal of Experts and US watchdog The Sentry with information damaging the First Family is now doing rounds on social media.
This is an utter propadoka – the desperate attempt to fool someone in authority. Look. Adok has been the director of NSS Cyber Security for years now. Isn’t it a no brainer that he is the one who provides sensitive information to The Sentry and UN?
How come the US and UN have never charged Akol and Adok for the horrific crimes the NSS soldiers committed during the height of the conflict, including organized rapes and murders in the country?
Think about this. Some years ago, a lawyer tried to sue The Sentry at an international court for its grave accusations against the government. However, Adok hijacked the legal project and buried it. Why?
Furthermore, he asserts, via his contracted writers, that Gen. Paul Malong is disparaging you. Really? How is that possible when Malong is busy working at the Tumaini Initiative, helping find a peaceful way to reconcile with you?
This is yet another propadoka designed to sabotage the vital peace process, with the unmistakable goal of uniting your allies for the benefit of national unity and the greater good.
The propadoka aims to convince you to reinstate Akol, as the planned coup d’état cannot proceed without the former spy chief.
Powell and Thyne define a coup d’état as an “illegal and overt attempt by the military or other elites within the state apparatus to unseat the sitting executive” in a 2011 article in the Journal of Peace Research.
The two scholars argue that the target of a coup must be a sitting executive, and the perpetrators must have formal ties to the national government. You obviously are the target.
Adok and Akol are in charge of revenue-generating, information, and intelligence institutions. They are also still in control of the most well-equipped national army—NSS. Think about his grand return to the country last week.
“…coups can quickly derail the process of democratic consolidation. Coups also seem to be linked with civil wars, including the 1975 coup that sparked 25 years of violence in the Bangladesh,” Powell and Thyne add.
Have you ever come across a short pictorial story in which a man bottle-feeds a cub, and the man ends up in the cub’s mouth with time?
In that story, Ali Bongo ‘Make Noise For Me’ of Gabon and General Brice Clotaire are depicted. Do not be an Ali Bongo. And do not allow the Brice Clotaires to return the country to another civil war. Fi-ni-sh-the-jo-bbb!
