JUBA, South Sudan — The spokesperson for the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) released a statement following Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) Gen. Santino Deng Wol’s visit to Uganda, where he met with his Ugandan counterpart, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, to discuss key border and security issues,

Both sides agreed to maintain a cordial and harmonious working relationship along their shared border and ensure the continuation of trade and commerce.
Additionally, the SSPDF will deploy more forces along the Juba-Nimule Road to enhance the safety of public road users. Gen. Wol also secured the release of three South Sudanese servicemen detained by the UPDF in July 2024, along with Capt. Machol Majur Madol from the South Sudan National Police Service, who was arrested in Uganda the same month while in possession of a loaded pistol.
