Dear Gogrial,
Listen. President Salva Kiir Mayardit, just like any other man tasked with laying the foundation of a country, is both a good and bad man, depending on the angle one looks at him.
Though Kiir is to blame for the stunted development, lack of rule of law, unchecked corruption, and impunity, the omissions are excusable because building a nation peopled with combative tribes such as the Dinka and Nuer, Shilluk, Murle, Toposa, Lotuho, and Didinga from scratch is not an effortless task.
However, Kiir undoubtedly inherited hatred, ethnic animosity, grudges, tribal stupidities, poverty, corruption, a lack of infrastructure development, illiteracy, and diseases.
The liberator, nevertheless, has achieved a lot. He made significant contributions during the liberation struggle. He played a crucial role in implementing the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, particularly the 2011 Referendum that resulted in the declaration of independence.
If he were of feeble disposition, the Khartoum regime could have bribed him to sabotage the referendum. We would all be slaves today, reciting ‘Allah Akhbar’ five times a day.
He has been trying his best to develop the country. The majority of his bush comrades hold him in low regard and are eager to take charge. The men and women want to dishonorably dethrone him, despite the fact that he is working hard to reunite the country.
Through the Tumaini Initiative (TI), your son is endeavoring to make amends with his former comrades, with whom he fell out during this nation’s formative stage period. These include Malong Awan, Pagan Amum, Oyai Deng, and Cirino Hiteng. Every peace-loving citizen commends Kiir for this move.
However, the peace process has revealed the hidden agendas of some of the political vampires, whom Kiir refers to as friends. They are up against TI, because it is likely to politically displace or disempower them.
These individuals may dine with him one minute but betray him the next as they leave the presidential palace. What a bunch of treacherous owls!
This explains why his true friends are being targeted right now. One of them is Michael Makuei Lueth, minister of Information, Technology, and Postal Services. Kiir has lots of loyal friends. But Makuei is ‘loyal loyal’.
It goes without saying that Michael is an accomplished member of the Kiir administration and a surviving cornerstone. The minister is unbuyable. And his unbuyability sets him apart from most senior government leaders. The man is a paragon of virtue and honesty.
I am not saying Makuei is an angel, though. But he won’t allow anyone to sway him into joining the army of backstabbers, one of whom is Napoleon Adok Gai, the director of the National Communications Authority.
Adok is the most ‘lethal’ South Sudanese alive today, given some documents I’m in possession of. He has been executing a state capture plot, step by step. Think about it.
His presence is everywhere in the government, putting his tentacles in key areas of power. I challenge you to look around for Adok’s invisible hands in every government office. He knows everything about everybody, especially persons of interest.
He uses all means necessary to destroy anyone who stands in his way. Due to Kiir’s trust in Makuei, Adok has found it tough to push him off the cliff.
“The silence of a friend commonly amounts to treachery. His not daring to say anything on our behalf implies a tacit censure,” writes William Hazlitt, English philosopher and author (1778–18 September 1830).
Most of the leaders who are working with him in the shadows to rob Kiir of the presidency, including Internal Security Bureau Chief Gen. Akol Koor, believe that Adok is working for them. No. They are pawns. Adok has successfully outwitted and deceived them all. Sadly, they are unaware. Shame.
What I’m saying is that someday, Kiir will no longer be president. He will either step down for whatever reason or lose the presidency to any citizen in an election.
However, it would be unfair for you to allow anyone to shame him by taking away the presidency through treacherous means.
Kiir exerted a considerable effort for this country to be where it is today. His exit from J1 ought to be dignified. But some people around the president are getting paid to turn a blind eye to the plot, which I call Operation Humiliate Kiir (OHK).
Be watchful. Alternatively, strive to safeguard Kiir’s legacy more fiercely. Have your son clip the wings of those who are intent on trampling his greatness. Encourage Kiir to politically circumcise them.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Sincerely,
Tearz Ayuen
