Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit
President, Republic of South Sudan
Juba.
Dear Your Excellency,
On behalf of the concerned citizens of South Sudan, I humbly appeal for the removal of Martin Elia Lomoro from your government. He has become a liability, obstructing progress in our nation.
If you had an adviser who genuinely understood public sentiment regarding Mr. Lomoro and others in your administration, action would have been taken long ago. The reasons for this appeal are as follows:
- He labels citizens expressing opinions on governance as criminals.
- He misappropriated funds meant for peace implementation.
2 He, with others misled you and the presidency by forging the opinions of the electoral and security institutions to unilaterally extend the transitional period without proper procedures.
- He dismissively claimed that leaders are biblically authorized to rule, disregarding public dissent.
- He shows a troubling indifference to the suffering of South Sudanese citizens, jeopardizing our international standing.
Currently, the people of South Sudan are about to reluctantly accept the 24-month extension of the transitional period. However, we cannot tolerate the arrogance of officials like Mr. Lomoro, who seem oblivious to our struggles and sufferings since 2005.
To ensure the next transitional period’s success, Elia and his associates mustn’t be involved in its implementation, as their actions indicate a desire to prolong this transition.
We sincerely hope you will consider this appeal and take swift action.
Sincerely,
Adv. Juma Mabor Marial
Juba, South Sudan.
