WAU — The Minister of General Education and Instruction, Awut Deng Acuil, announced the launch of two new STEM Power Centers in Warrap State on Thursday, September 5, 2024. The centers, which will be located in secondary schools in Tonj and Twic Counties, are part of a national effort to improve STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and provide students with advanced learning resources.
In addition to the already established STEM facility at Kuajok National Secondary School in Gogrial West County, the new centers aim to equip students with skills in science and technology, preparing them for future careers in these fields. The centers will feature solar power stations, laboratories for mathematics, physics, biology, and chemistry, as well as computer labs.
“This initiative is vital for fostering innovation and empowering the youth of Warrap State,” said Minister Awut. “We are investing in the future of our students by ensuring they have access to the tools and knowledge they need to thrive in a technological world.”
The computer facility at Kuajok National Secondary School is already serving 30 managers, youth, and teachers, contributing to the state’s growing focus on education and skills development.
The government looks forward to the positive impact these STEM centers will bring to Warrap State’s educational system and student outcomes.
