JUBA, South Sudan, August 24, 2024—President Salva Kiir on Friday evening issued a series of decrees, promoting several ambassadors and making key changes in the government. Among those promoted were Ambassador Barnaba Bol Nyuol and Ambassador Moun Deng Ajuet, who were elevated to different grades.
In a decree read on the South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation, Kiir also relieved David Marial Gumke of his duties as Deputy Interior Minister, appointing Gen. Mangar Buong Alueng as his replacement.
In another decree, Kiir removed Philip Oyoba Ghaza from his position as Commissioner of Ibba County, following the earlier dismissal of Elisama Charles Baba from the same role.
