JUBA, Aug. 23, 2024 – In a significant political development, Chol Mawut Ajongo was officially sworn in as the new Minister of Presidential Affairs on Friday, marking a key moment in President Salva Kiir’s administration.
During the ceremony, President Kiir expressed confidence in Ajongo’s capabilities, highlighting his ambassadorial experience. Kiir noted that Ajongo’s diplomatic background would be instrumental in advancing the government’s vision and enhancing citizen engagement.
Kiir emphasized the crucial role of the Minister of Presidential Affairs in coordinating policy initiatives and fostering communication between the presidency and other government branches as South Sudan prepares for upcoming general elections.
Ajongo, who previously served as the country’s Ambassador to Kenya, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in this new capacity.
Additionally, the Deputy Governor of Central Equatoria State, Paulino Lukudu Obede, was sworn into office, assuming his duties in the state.
