The elder brother of Fr Mark Kumbonyaki, Mr Salvatore Kumbonyaki was abducted on the 29 April 2024, across river Yubu in Tombura at Nabaria village and got slaughtered in cold blood. The Bishop of Tambura Yambio presided over a mass for the late in Yambio on Friday 21 June 2024, at St. Mary in Yambio. This is just one of the many murders committed by the Balanda militia everyday many of whom are roaming the countryside of Tambura, Ezo and Nagero counties. We condemn it in the strongest language possible.
The continued abductions and killing of Azande civilians by Balanda militia many of whom are mercenaries brought from Bazia, Western Bahr El Ghazal, have reached genocide level and Azande must mobilized and condemn the ethnic violence being unleashed on them via non other than WES Governor himself. All evidence point to the fact that the killings and abductions are well coordinated from Yambio and we will not keep quite anymore and do all necessary to stop ethnic killings and cleansing of Azande as intended and well known and the Governor has an obligation to stop his militia from committing crimes against humanity.
We have thousands of forced displaced people and others continue to suffer from abductions in order to kill, rape and horrific tortures. Azande in all of WES, Juba and all over the world, cannot continue to stay in indifference to the intended ethnic cleansing. We condemn it and call on perpetrators to stop and opt for peaceful coexistence, otherwise.
