In Europe you might just meet the Prime minister of a nation riding a bicycle or walking to a nearby grocery to buy his lunch. He can stop and talk to members of the Public too and he’s just having a few body guards who also walk.
Anybody who wants to question the Prime minister might just meet him in the street or you can even send him your question by electronic means which he will pick up and reply you. I was in UK and I myself sent questions to Prime Minister John Major and received replies immediately. It means the Government is working for the interest of the public and any queries matters to them.
In Sout Sudan we already have the most guarded President in the world. There is no way you can approach or give your view to him. Now we are even introducing outdated forms in order for his own ministers to see him. Paper work has become a primitive thing in the modern world now. Paper costs a lot of money and brings dirty. Just move around the ministries and you find paper and plastic pollution everywhere causing more damage to our environment. We need to move into ICT and e-Goverment where there is reduced use of paper. But we don’t think of ICT infrastructure but moving back into prmitive state because people like Hon Bangasi Josrph Bakosoro employed around the President have no knowledge to offer but backward ideas of trying to seal our President away from his people so that false information and lies are fed to him in darkness. When you have no knowledge of development and modern ideas you fear every progressive person because your only concern is how much money you eat every day. But we have remind Hon Bakosoro we are moving towards Elections and our endorsed candidate for Presudent from SPLM is none other than our President Salva Kiir Mayardit and he has to have axess more to his constituencies. Hon Bakosoro wants to sabotage the chances of our SPLM Chairman winning that Election and Bakosoro can stand as Independence candiate to win it, which an elusive dream any way but it something he sings like a song, sabotage within.
Let us move away from backwardness. The motion of sealing the President from his own cabinet ministers and heads of other important units and going back into primitive paper work is not acceptable in modern democracies around the world, especiallyin Election year. I call.upon our humble President to reject this kind of conspiracy and hidden agenda against HE and instead empress openness because he is loved by the people of South Sudan and the only problem is the office of our big Man which is filled by selfish people who are now working hard to isolate him from his people to bringva downfall.
The Office of the President must be approachable by even the public leave alone ministers only. The Executive Director is there to organise meetings and then now we have minister in the office of the President who have assumed that role and then we are also briging in the Minister of cabinet affairs rendering the position of Executive Director useless and bringing paper pollution. In those days in 2011 even as ordinary member of SPLM, I could go all the way to the Executive Director of the President and Executive Secretary and they would fix me to meet the President when I had seriously concetns like what I im raising here. You can prove this from Former Executive Director then Mr Yel. Today not even a minister can meet Exeutuve Director or Executive Secretary of the President and yet we can claim we are trying to build a just nation when the President is increasing being made to become President of a few elites with vested interests who are only concerned about eating money and not serving the nation.
Thi is not about protecting the President but about somebody worried about himself and his agenda and trying to isolate the President and putting more hurdles to block those he does not like. So I’m appealing to our President to make himself available to the nation and break the wall being build around him so that our Election issue are handled by him as our SPLM Chairman. There are enough safe and security steps with Executive Director and Executive Secretary to keep.our President safe and sound. If there are any Forms, they must be with the Executive Director and we can not reinvent the wheel in the Republic of South Sudan.
Hon Eng Charles Barnaba Kisanga
SPLM Senior Cadre Juba.
