JUBA – Senior SSPDF officer in Bilpam GHQs who refused to be mentioned, told Sudan Tribune Tuesday that, the long-serving SSPDF spokesman, Gen. Lul Ruai Koang is facing a dismissal threats from the top powerful military Generals after Gen. Lul put on the SPLM cap two weeks ago in Bor, Jonglei State.
Over the last two weeks, Gen. Lul Ruai Koang at the welcoming ceremony of Jonglei State Deputy Governor in Bor was spotted on camera putting on the SPLM cap during the function. The action that later angered a numerous political and Civil Society Activists before calling for Gen. Lul to resign from his position as the spokesperson of the army.
Few years back, H. E. the President, Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit issued a decree warning the army to stay away from politics.
Maj. Gen. Lul Ruai Koang was in a Republican Decree assigned to the entire docked by President Salva Kiir around 2015 through the recommendation of the former Chief of General Staff, Gen. Paul Malong Awan who is currently in exile in Nairobi, Kenya dispites having not been in a good term with the Director General of ISB-NSS, Gen. Akol Koor Kuc.
Sources in Bilpam went on to Sudan Tribune that, Malong’s former military spokesman, Col. Philip Deng Kuol Nguot who hails from Fangak Nuer and defected to the government last year is set to be the next successor of Lul after having been successfully recommended to President Kiir by Gen. Akol Koor to replace Gen. Lul Ruai as the official spokesman for the SSPDF.
