Juba, Wednesday (March 6, 2024) – H.E President Salva Kiir Mayardit was on Wednesday briefed by Speaker Jemma Nunu Kumba on the activities of the National Parliament, with the August House set to reopen during the first week of April.
The Speaker said the decision underscores government’s commitment to upholding democratic principles and ensuring that the voice of the people is heard.
Hon. Nunu also outlined key legislative priorities that will be on the agenda for the upcoming session, including the current conversations about the elections, peace implementation, infrastructural development, and economic recovery.
She added that the reopening of the Parliament signifies a fresh start and an opportunity for the lawmakers to come together and make meaningful progress on crucial matters.
