In statement from spokesperson Moses Wawich Liem refutes the claims that SSUF/A – ND) has joined the ruling party SPLM/A. under President Kiir
To clear the air, all the delegates who came to Juba with the Chaiman are. yet intact and loyal to the cause and doing about their mandate in advancing the Home-Grown Peace Initiative in Juba. What happened this weekon. December 4, 2023, is that ew disgruntle, and confused members have decided to succumb to defection trap propaganda casted by SPLM in Juba. W e acknowledged the like of Guol Jial Bikot who acts as acting Secretary- Seneral and Col. Philip Deng K uol our former Military Spokesperson are among those who have joined SPLMS
in Juba as individuals. However, since it is normal in a political environment, everyone has a right to freedom of choice and affiliation to join any political party to advance what they think is good for themselves and the country,
The SSUF/A – Nairobi Declaration leadership and the entire members do wish them good luck and better future in their political aspirations .On line with the progress on the implementation of the peace agreement we reached with the government, South Sudan United Front/Army – Nairobi Declaration would like to put straight the following points
Over one hundred fifty days (150) since we arrived in Juba on Monday, 12th June 2023 here has been a lack of progress towards the implementation of the “Home-grown Peace Initiative” as agreed with the government in Nairobi.
Since our rrival here in Juba, no official or face to face meeting that has been scheduled with SSUF/A – ND leadership till to date in contrast to the agreement
. SSUF/A -ND is firm strong, and united than before under Chairman & C-In-C, Gen. Dickson Gatluak, and still determined in pursuing for peaceful resolution to the conflict in South Sudan. through non-violence process or dialogue.
SSUF/A=ND urges the government to schedule talks with our chairman Maj. Gen Dickson Gatluak and his delegation to honour the agreement and to ensure peaceful coexistence in the country. Above all, SSUF/A – ND leadership is yet committed to Cessation of Hostilities
Agreement (COHA) signed in Rome, Italy on 12 January 2020 with the government of. South Sudan witnessed by the IG AD under the Sant’ Egidio Community.
SSUF/A-ND responds to a call made by His Holiness, Pope Francis for peaceful resolution to the. conflict in South Sudan; that leaders can still sit and find solutions amongst themselves.
. Acknowledge and re-afirm our commitment to the call for Peaceful co-existence by H.E President Kiir in his last year message for the Christmas and New Year’s Eve, when he reiterated that ” As people emerging from the conflict situation, we all need to support peace by shunning violence in all its forms
and by choosing peaceful means to address our grievances whenever they arise
Finally, we urge the government to engage SSUF/A – ND amicably by honouring the implementation. of the agreement and have a political will to resolve conflict peacefully as a matter of urgency in the
Country
