Elders in Jonglei State are appealing for calm after the killing of the well-known wrestler Deng Dau, commonly recognized as Deng Moradong.
The incident transpired amid a dispute between Hol youth from Duk County and Ayual Youth from Twic East County, which escalated into a confrontation, leaving three individuals dead and others injured.
Elders from both communities are making a collective plea to the youth, urging them to abstain from any retaliatory actions that could potentially lead to further loss of life.
These appeals for restraint come in light of the recurring issue of revenge killings among pastoralist communities in South Sudan.
