The most feared intelligent officer Maj. Angelo Kuot Garang leaked out government classified information to the public unknowingly in his hang-outs where he excitedly breathed out too much amount of praise to Gen. Lual Wek Guem for having managed to secure Presidential approval of one cargo for the planned purchase of arms/weaponry.
Maj. Kuot Garang in his chilling spots, had a casual conversation with several sources about how he is very happy with Gen. Lual Maroldit on persuading President Kiir to have this one cargo allocated for military hardware which he as an associate will have a stake.
He confessed that his personal business company in partnership with a Lebanese International Company, owned by the one he mentioned as Jamal, will be the one to import modern weapons, “We no longer care about the so-called arms embargo, through the help of my business partner Mr. Jamal, we are going to import military tanks, armoured vehicles and other hardware.” Kuot Garang proudly said. He added that he is less worried about the International sanctions imposed on him, “By the way, I don’t care about sanction of Western Governments whose bad policies are intend to destroy this country.”
It remains unclear what the West’s bad policies Maj. Kuot Garang is talking about despite his lack of political knowledge on global politics.
Now citizens should widely open their eyes and see those who are behind oil money hiding themselves in the name of protecting the Government of South Sudan through unnecessary purchase of weapons from China and Russia leaving people starving.
Before and after the 2013 war, the Government of South Sudan imported a large number of arms and ammunition but almost 60% of those purchased items end up in the hands of civilians and rebels like Gen. Johnson Olony, late Gen. Peter Gatdet, Dr. Riek Machar, Gen. George Athor, Gen. Thomas Chirrilo and many others. Instead of wasting our resources on weapons, why not invest the national resources in developmental projects? It means the advocacy being put up by Dut Machine, Ajongo Ubeer Unguec, Mawien Rual Mawien, Wol Deng Atak, Wani Michael among others, for an arms embargo on South Sudan is necessary. Government is supposed to temporarily reduce budget for military and double budgets of Agriculture and CDF.
