To the immediate and extended family members, as well as the acquaintances of Dr. Marial
Dear Mama Victoria Aluel Aru Bol and Awou Marial,
I am deeply saddened by the unfortunate passing of your husband and a father. The passing on of Dr. Marial is a tragedy unworthy of happening at this time. It is hard to bear.
However, it is a loss not solely confined to an individual, but rather represents a profound and distressing setback for the community of Yirol. Dr. Marial was a notable figure that Yirol was proud of, both as an asset and a treasure that explodes with wisdom. This community has endured the successive departure of its esteemed elders over an extended period of time.
The passing of Dr. Marial Awou is among a series of recent bereavements, which also include notable individuals such as Isaiah Kulung Mabor, Marial Rong Guem, Telar Ring Deng, Marial Nuor Jok, Matthew Mayor Ayuong Adut, Bahon Mabor Deng, Madit Maker Gum, Jueljok Aruopiny, and other more.
Every one of these departures has had a negative lasting impact on both our emotions and that of our collective community.
The accumulated knowledge transmitted by these senior individuals not only functioned as a means of providing cautionary advice and guidance, but also served to inspire, console, and fortify the younger generation. The absence of the individuals in question elicits a deep and profound sentiment of grief within us, as their presence cannot be replicated.
The current circumstance serve as a poignant reminder of the need of valuing and appreciating the elderly members of our society and the invaluable insight they possess. During such moments, individuals come to recognise the transient nature of life and the fragility of our being.
A loss this enormous, is a statement that serves as a poignant reminder of the imperativeness for unity and assistance when confronted with challenging circumstances.
Following the demise of Dr. Marial Awou and the aforementioned esteemed elders of Yirol, it is appropriate for us to assemble in a collective act of prayer. We earnestly beseech that our beloved Yirol may be endowed with strength and steadfastness to endure this series of adversities.
We may find solace in our collective recollections and the certainty that the influence of those individuals will persist in the thoughts and emotions of those they affected.
Let us collectively express our hopes for respite from the prevailing tide of sorrow and for the untimely demise of our cherished elders to cease. In order to honour their memories, it is essential that we diligently uphold the principles and traditions that held significant meaning to them.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to you at this arduous period. I express my solidarity in grieving and paying tribute to the extraordinary lives of these notable persons.
With loving thoughts,
Dr. Sunday John
