Juba, Sudan – In a powerful address, veteran politician and Member of Parliament (MP) Honorable David Deng Athorbei and MP Honorable Majak Machar called upon the youthful population of Aluakluak to rally behind the ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army (SPLM/A). The two political heavyweights delivered their resolute message during the highly anticipated gathering of the Apaak Youth Association in Juba. As the crowd settled into the large conference hall, Hon. Athorbei stepped onto the stage, a beacon of wisdom and experience.
Addressing the eager audience, Hon. Athorbei emphasized the liberation spirit that had birthed South Sudan and commended the youth for actively participating in the political affairs of the country. “We have all witnessed the immense sacrifices made by the SPLM/A over the years to secure our independence and keep South Sudan sovereign,” he exclaimed. “It is now our responsibility to uphold the vision and aspirations of our founding fathers.”
MP Athorbei further stressed the importance of youth engagement in politics for the development and progress of the nation. He firmly asserted, “You, the youth of Aluakluak, possess the power to shape the future of our great nation. Join hands and support the SPLM/A, whose core foundation aligns with our collective dreams for a prosperous South Sudan.”
Following the resounding ovation to Athorbei’s speech, MP Majak Machar took center stage, continuing the powerful message. He addressed the crowd, urging them to be active participants, not just passive voters, in the political process. “Youthful energy and fresh perspectives are the very lifeblood needed for a thriving democracy,” proclaimed Hon Majak Machar. “We cannot afford to let our voices go unheard.”
Machar highlighted the need for the youth of South Sudan to be united in pursuing common goals, transcending tribal divisions, and embracing the country’s rich diversity. “Today, we stand united as South Sudanese, committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable society,” declared Machar. “Together, we can overcome any challenges and build a brighter future for all.”
The gathering concluded with a renewed spirit of unity among the youth, who pledged their unwavering support for the SPLM/A and promised to actively engage in shaping the nation’s political landscape. Several young participants also shared their aspirations and commitment to contribute to a prosperous South Sudan.
As the Aluakluak youths dispersed, leaving conference Hall with a renewed sense of purpose, their voices echoed the resounding message of unity delivered by Hon. Athorbei and Hon. Majak Machar. With the youths now firmly united behind the ruling party, South Sudan’s political future seemed more promising than ever before
