Juba, 19th August 2023- South Sudan and Kenya commits to expand bilateral ties in areas in trade,Investment and infrastructure development to enhance regional cooperation.
While in Kenya, Kiir and Ruto witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a fibre optic cable along the Eldoret-Juba Road to enhance connectivity between the two countries.
The two leaders also discussed peace in the region, with focus on de-escalation of the armed conflict in the Sudan.
The Heads of State also discussed implementing the infrastructural projects under the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia-Transport Corridor project( LAPSSET).
President Kiir and the accompanying delegation returned to Juba this evening and was received by the first Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny and other senior government officials.
