Ruweng Chief Administrator and and the SPLM Chairperson in Ruweng, Stephano Wieu de Mialek, officially inaugurated the SPLM Secretariat Farm on Saturday, August 12, 2023.
Covering an expansive area of one hundred acres, the initiative marks the launch of the SPLM Farm in Ruweng Administrative Area.
Stephano Wieu de Mialek emphasized the importance of the farm, stating that it aligns with the overarching goal of the SPLM’s 2023 Campaign to encourage local food production through cultivation.
During the launch ceremony, Wieu spoke to the press about the farm’s objectives. He highlighted its role as a pivotal step towards empowering communities to increase agricultural output, subsequently leading to market price stabilization and self-sustenance. By reducing dependency on external markets and boosting local supply, this initiative aims to bring down market prices and ensure a stable supply chain.
“This farm stands as a living testament to our SPLM objectives,” affirmed Cde. Stephano. He further underlined the importance of instilling a strong agricultural mindset within communities and making farming a top priority.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Paulino Jaw Thonding, the SPLM Secretary General in RAA, along with numerous SPLM members in Ruweng Administrative Area.
