Your Excellency,
In the chronicle of a nation’s journey, there emerge moments of profound reckoning that demand transformative decisions. Today marks one such juncture as I pen this letter to you. With an unwavering devotion to our beloved South Sudan and the ideals that elevate us, I am compelled to formally resign from the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM). My departure signifies not an end, but the dawn of a new era – one where we strive to reclaim our moral essence and reignite the beacon of unity that kindled our aspirations as a people.
Our path thus far has been both inspiring and arduous. From the sacrifices of our forefathers to my own experiences as soldiers and members of the Red Army, we have woven a tapestry of bravery, resilience, and determination. Our journey was never meant to falter, yet today we stand at the precipice of disillusionment. The very Movement that was meant to be a torchbearer for our nation has been infiltrated by tribalism, regionalism, and opportunism – forces that have eroded the moral fiber of our society.
As a witness to this transformation, I cannot but acknowledge the degradation of our values, the erosion of our unity, and the muddying of our aspirations. The SPLM, a symbol of hope and progress, has been wrested away from the hands of those who

cherished its noble vision. This hijacking has led us astray, veering away from the path that was meant to lead to a South Sudan where virtue, equality, and unity flourish.
Your Excellency, the legacy we envisioned – of a free South Sudan founded upon moral values that transcend tribal and regional lines – has faltered. The very principles that were meant to elevate us have been dwarfed by divisive interests. Our society has been marred by the corrosive impact of this trajectory, leaving us far removed from the righteous path of unity.
With deep sorrow and unyielding determination, I declare my resignation from the SPLM. This decision is not a repudiation of our collective history, but a clarion call to resuscitate the values that once enabled us to stand tall as a people. It is a testament to my unwavering commitment to revive the essence of our nation – one grounded in shared values, aspirations, and unity.
Amidst the turbulence of the present, I envision a South Sudan that rekindles the fire of our shared values and moral compass. It is a South Sudan where tribal and regional divisions are overshadowed by our collective identity as South Sudanese – a nation defined by its integrity, honor, and unity. This path, though fraught with challenges, is the only one that aligns with the legacy we inherited from our forebears and the aspirations we have dreamt of.
As I step away from the ranks of the SPLM, I embark upon a new endeavor. This journey is not one of defiance, but of redemption. It is a call to vigorous action for all who still believe in the virtue of our cause, who yearn for a South Sudan defined by the strength of its character and the unity of its people. Together, we shall establish a party with a platform that resonates with the spirit of hope, progress, and prosperity that once coursed through our veins.
I invite you, Your Excellency, to recognize the urgency of our mission – to grasp this moment as an opportunity for dialogue and collaboration. Our diverging paths need not cast us as adversaries; rather, they can converge in a pursuit of a shared destiny. Together, we can construct a South Sudan that reclaims its lost virtues, transcends the confines of division, and rises to fulfill the dreams that once united us.
I express my gratitude for your dedicated service to our nation. While my journey may lead me away from the SPLM, my allegiance to South Sudan remains unwavering. This step is a stride towards healing and unity, driven by an unyielding belief in our capacity to mend the fabric of our society.
With hope rekindled and purpose renewed, I stand ready to champion the cause of our nation’s moral and spiritual revival. Through this endeavor, I pledge to honor the sacrifices of our ancestors and reignite the aspirations that gave birth to the new nation of South Sudan.
In faith and determination,
