Today, August 3rd, 2023, marks the 2nd anniversary day of the birth of the SPLM-IO Kitgwang Declaration. It’s a day in which the people’s movement pay a special tribute to the heroes and heroines who have fallen in the civil war in 2013, 2016, and 2021 respectively.
On this day, we salute and recognize all our martyrs; wounded and disabled soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for freedom of South Sudanese people from practices of injustices, and economic marginalization of the rural population across the country by the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
The SPLM-IO Kitgwang Declaration emerged because of the following:
- Advocation for implementation of security Arrangements to create a conducive atmosphere for a dignified return of our refugees and complete reunion with their families.
- Recognition of Transitional Justice to put on trial those who committed genocide, war crime, and crimes against humanity through establishment of the Hybrid Court.
In the light of our independent , there was an immediate enormous hope after the liberation of our country when we became an independent country like the rest of the countries in the world, but the independency of the hard-won liberation have been hijacked by a kleptocrat groups of the SPLM whose aim is to loot the wealth of the countries through corruption, nepotism and totally denied the civil population from the basic necessities of human life such as building hospital, schools, infrastructure and promotion of agriculture.
The two leaders of the SPLM, President Salva Kiir Mayardit and FVP Riek Machar took us back to war in December 2013 after we have gained our Independent which has caused severe catastrophic in term of humans and destruction of properties. The civil war has claimed over five hundred thousand (500.000) lives within a period of five years. Unfortunately, President Salva Kiir Mayardit and his FVP Riek Machar have also failed to implement the 2018 Revital Peace Agreement as it’s written and signed by them.
That is the reason that our people are continuing to suffer living in UNMISS camps in Juba and across the country, and in neighboring countries namely, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Democratic Republic of CONGO, and Central African Republic.
As we observe the Anniversary Day of August 3rd, 2021, your Movement the SPLM-IO Kitgwang is reminding every South Sudanese that Salva Kiir Mayardit and his FVP Riek Machar took you back to war and have miserably failed to lead the country and implement the 2018 Revitalized peace Agreement.
Therefore, your Movement the SPLM-IO Kitgwang in the bush will continue to fight and liberate you to achieve total emancipation from bad governance, injustices, corruption, and economic marginalization imposed on you by president Salva Kiir Mayardit. By joining the liberation for freedom, we will bring fundamental change in South Sudan so that the independent become meaningful to every citizen in South Sudan.
