By Dut Abraham Manyang.
In 1991 Mutiny, i lost my father Manyang Deng Kok and my youngest siblings were also killed in the day and it’s was a fearful time ever.
During those two weeks in the bush, the family and I survived on limited resources, constantly on the move to avoid detection by the Rebels. As a result, we were constantly exhausted and hungry, never able to fully rest or eat a proper meal.
When we finally reached the swamp area, we were relieved to have a temporary refuge. However, life in the swamp was not easy either. The water was murky and filled with dangerous animals, and we had to be careful not to get bitten or infected.
We spent our days fishing and foraging for food, trying to survive in the harsh environment. Despite the challenges, we were grateful to be alive and together as a family.
Eventually, we were able to make our way to a refugee camp where we received much-needed assistance and support. While the trauma of those two weeks will never fully leave us, we are thankful for the opportunity to start a new life and rebuild what we lost.
Growing up, I had a tough life. My parents were not wealthy and we often struggled to make ends meet. My siblings and I had to work hard to support our family and ensure that we could afford basic necessities such as food and clothing. Despite the challenges, I was determined to succeed in life and make something of myself.
I started my academic journey at Lobone Primary School where I completed my primary education in 2000. I then proceeded to Arua Academy where I completed my Ordinary Level education in 2006. After completing my Advanced Level education in bright high, Kampala 2009, I decided to enroll at Uganda Management Institute where I pursued a diploma in public Administration& management.
After completing my diploma, I worked for several years before deciding to further my education. In 2014, I enrolled at Gulu University where I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. It was at Gulu University that I discovered my love for writing and decided to pursue a career in writing.
My experience in life has taught me that hard work and determination can take you a long way. Despite the challenges I faced growing up, I was able to overcome them and achieve my goals. I am now a professional writer and I am grateful for the opportunities that have come my way.
both online and in print. My work has been well-received by readers and editors alike, and I have even won awards for my writing.
Looking back on my life, I realize that the struggles I went through have made me a stronger person. I have learned to persevere in the face of adversity, and I have developed a deep sense of empathy for others who are going through difficult times.
As a writer, I am able to use my experiences to connect with my readers on a personal level. I believe that my unique perspective and life story give me an edge as a writer, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share my voice with the world.
Finally, Growing up with a single mother can be a unique experience, one that often requires resilience, adaptability, and strength. As a professional article writer, I understand the challenges and rewards that come with being raised by a single mother.
For many children of single mothers, their mothers serve as their primary role model and source of inspiration. They learn to be independent, to work hard, and to persevere through adversity. They may also develop a strong sense of empathy and compassion, as they witness their mothers navigate the challenges of parenting alone.
At the same time, growing up with a single mother can also come with its own set of challenges. Financial instability, lack of social support, and the absence of a father figure can all take a toll on a child’s emotional and psychological well-being. However, with the right support and resources, children of single mothers can thrive and achieve great success.
As a professional article writer, I am committed to sharing stories and insights that shed light on the experiences of children raised by single mothers. By raising awareness, promoting empathy, and advocating for support and resources, we can create a more inclusive and supportive society for all families.
