The office of the chairman and commander-in-chief of the SSPM/A today came across a statement on social media released by Tonj community leader Ustaz Lewis Anei Madut that the SSPA attacked Apuk-Padoc, in the Akop area, Warrap state killing innocent civilians and taking away an unknown number of cattle.
The SSPM/A condemns the statement in the strongest terms possible, such a statement should not be supposed to come out from a renowned and respected leader like Ustaz Lewis Anei Madut who was misinformed by the Juba-based NCP group that it was the SSPA that carried out an attack on innocent civilians in Tonj, Warrap state.
The office of the chairman and commander-in-chief would like to educate Ustaz Lewis Anei Madut that the Mayom-based militias have been raiding cattle across the border for many years now in disguise as armed civilians and would like him to investigate thoroughly the source of his information.
The chairman and commander-in-chief of the SSPM/A condemns the attack on the innocent civilians of Tonj, Warrap state by Mayom-based militias and conveys his condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased on both sides.
