JUBA, 9th May 2023 – Egyptian Foreign Affairs Minister Sameh Shoukry who arrived in Juba this morning has delivered President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s message to President Salva Kiir on the situation in Sudan.
Speaking in a joint news conference, Minister Shoukry says his visit to Juba is aimed at consolidating efforts and exchanging views on how to contain the crisis in the Sudan.
“This meeting is a follow up to the conversation both Presidents, Sisi and Kiir had on the dramatic situation in Sudan a few days ago”, the Minister said.
South Sudan’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Deng Dau Deng says President Kiir is committed to seeing into it that the war in Sudan is brought to an end through a peaceful political settlement.
The Foreign Affairs Minister said President Kiir and Sisi have full determination to contain the situation and relieve the difficulties the Sudanese people are going through.
