Sudan’s Special Envoy Dafallah al Haj has said the Sudanese people have full confidence on President Kiir to mediate the Sudanese conflict.
Ambassador Dafallah was speaking to journalists in Juba on Monday after briefing President Salva Kiir Mayardit on the current situation in the Sudan.
The Envoy who was dispatched by General Abdel Fattah al Burhan also said Juba remains a prime place for the Sudanese peace talks, due to its closeness to the hearts of the people of Sudan.
On his part, South Sudan’s Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Deng Dau Malek says IGAD, African Union and the United Nations have all entrusted President Kiir with the responsibility to bringing the Sudanese warring parties to a negotiating table.
The Minister says, President Kiir calls on the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces to fully adhere to the agreed ceasefire in order to allow humanitarians reach the people trapped by the conflict.
Delegates from the two warring sides are currently in Saudi Arabia for pre-negotiations, aimed at opening up humanitarian corridors and provision of essential services to the Sudanese people trapped by the conflict.
