Mr Edmund Yakani, Executive Director of Cepo says the opportunity of South Sudan leading IGAD-led mediation in Sudan is a greater opportunity for South Sudan if the president of South Sudan makes the mediation process more inclusive and participatory for all constituencies of Sudan CEPO will be championing an initiative for effective and meaningful participation of Sudan civil society in the expected peace mediation process under the lead of South Sudan
South Sudan civil society is in absolute solidarity with Sudan civil society. CEPO will the leadership of South Sudan to ensure that Sudan civil society have effective and meaningful participation on the mediation table. The experience of civil society participation during the juba peace process in 2022 should not be repeated in this next round of Sudan peace mediation under the lead of South Sudan.
