Agany Akuot, the 18-yera old girl nursing injuries after after father gouged both of her eyes for marrying another man.
Mary Akuot Agany, the young lady whose eyes were gouged by her father, says she has forgiven him.
“I have forgiven you,” Akuot told congregants at Stone International Church in Juba.
“May my God take the glory,” she added.
The church’s pastor, Peter AD, contributed $10,000 that will go toward footing her medical bills.
“I appeal to the general public, well-wishers, and President Salva Kiir to financially support this young girl to get proper medical treatment,” Peter said.
Mary Akuot became the latest recorded victim of gender-based violence after her father gouged both of her eyes for marrying a man whom he did not approve of.
Mary, 18, is currently in Juba for specialised medical attention.
