Upper Nile, South Sudan the construction industry in Upper Nile was rocked Monday night with news that two major players, Samsom Tekia of Ezira Company, and Zemikkael Teklu, known as “Mike,” of Momentum general trading and Wisdom Investment, have been caught up in a violent dispute. Some community members claim that rogue elements sent by Ezira and Momentum set fire to their construction machine, causing a significant loss of property. They have so far started litigation against Eriza and Momentem.
The situation has become so serious that representatives from Wisdom Constructors are now accusing Ezira and Momentum Constructors of deliberately undermining their business.
According to sources close to the community in Maban County, the competitor has been finding it increasingly difficult to compete with their rivals’ prices, and they believe that this latest incident was a deliberate attempt to weaken Wisdom’s position in the market.
