JUBA – Armed groups, South Sudan United Front/Army, a member to the holdout groups have denied Gen. Paul Malong of having any forces on the ground.
In a phone interview with Thejubamirror this morning, the SSUF/A military spokesman Col. Philip Deng Kuol Nguot claimed that all forces on the ground are loyal to the SSUF/A Nairobi Declaration led by Gen. Dickson Gatluak. He further added that Malong is not even the Chairman of this particular movement, forget about him to have a presence in South Sudan.
“First of all, I would like to make it crystal clear to the general public that, Gen. Paul Malong has no presences in Equatoria, Bahr El Ghazal and Upper Nile regions”. However, all these commands you have talked about in these three regions are loyals to the SSUF/A Nairobi Declaration under Gen. Dickson Gatluak”. Col. Philip Deng reiterated.
“Furthermore, Malong was constitutionally dismissed from the chairmanship of the party after we had made a wider consultation within the party before his deposal in the early 2023.” Then, since his removal consists in the SSUF/A constitution and manifesto, I don’t think he has powers to command our forces on the ground.
“The general public and all media houses in South Sudan should also take it from me because since my assignment to run this SSUF/A military information docket, I have been always in contact with our commanders on the ground”. Col. Deng stresses.
