On Saturday 25th/03/2023 in Kampala, Uganda, I successfully and peacefully transferred the power of Presidency of South Sudanese Students’ Union in Uganda, to H.E Mahoth Rong Chieng, the incoming President in an occasion officiated by H.E. Amb. Simon Juach Deng, South Sudan Ambassador to Uganda among other guests.
As I seized the opportunity of the occasion to Congratulate and at the same time wished President Mahoth Rong Chieng and his executives the best of luck in their tenure. I urged the President and his cabinet to learn from our mistakes and use it to guide their leadership going forward. In the same spirit, advised him to take note of the strides the previous administration under my stewardship made to build on them for betterment of all South Sudanese Students in Uganda.
As the former President, I promised, and assured the new leadership under Mahoth Rong my support where necessary at any given time. As the adage goes, “ you are never successful until your successor succeeds.” It will be my delight to see this new leadership succeeds at all cost.
On the same note, I thanked South Sudanese Students fraternity in Uganda for the opportunity, trust and their support throughout my tenure to serve them as their President in the past one year. I will be forever grateful.
I thanked my executives and the entire Union leadership of 2021_2022 for having assisted me throughout our tenure. We were the best team despite the challenges we might have faced. We resuscitated the Union to its greatness. We made sure this Union delivers services to students which is the main core of its objectives. A feat we will be proud of. You were the reason this was achieved!
I once more thanked the Embassy of South Sudan in Uganda, the whole government of South Sudan under the Stewardship of H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, and my personal friends for having helped my leadership in so many ways.
Special thanks goes to our Patron Eng. Bol Ring Muorwel for his exceptional leadership having successfully guided us upto this end. I will forever be grateful and indebted to him.
Finally, I will be remised, if I can’t mention in person, the young Puorchien Matueny Makeny. PC! Thanks you very much. And My friend Wilson Wol Wek and our entire tag team thank you very much, I promise you nothing but to carry forward. Sky isn’t the limit!
