JUBA – South Sudan United Front/Army Nairobi Declaration (SSUF/A-ND) led by Dickson Gatluak and Justice Power Freedom/Army (JPF/A) led by Charles Uchalla have amalgamated.
Col. Philip Deng Kuol Nguot, the military spokesperson of SSUF/A-ND in his statement obtained by thejubamirror News Desk, disclosed on Monday that consultations took days before the two movements reached an agreement after which twenty five JPF/A top commanders signed their declaration letter.
“This afternoon, the newly armed group goes by the name Justice Power Freedom/Army based in Western Bhr El Ghazal State under it’s former Chairman and C-in-C, 1st. Lt. Gen. Charles Uchalla Muong, have today declared themselves to SSUF/A Nairobi Declaration under Gen. Dickson Gatluak Jock Nyuot,” said Deng.
“The agreement has finally been reached-out following the intensive consultations that lasted for days. Fetching for the lasting peace back to the country through the SSUF/A Nairobi Declaration has triggered the JPF/A leadership to have it taken such a bold decision today.”
The statement issued by JPM/A showed that they took the decision for the attainment of lasting peace across the country, adding that the atrocities committed would soon come to an end.
The final signing of the agreement is expected to take place in Kampala as the two movements wait for join the peace process on unrevealed date.
Last week, SSUF/A led by Paul Malong warned Dickson against the use of SSUF/A in their movement stressing that the usage of the name SSUF/A would force them file a lawsuit.
Dickson earlier ordered his forces to report at New Bilpham for training for them to be integrated into the national army, South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) after 12 months.
Malong’s movement said Dickson had no authority to command SSUF/A forces because he (Dickson) was dismissed from the SSUF/A.
In January, SSUF/A-ND announced an ouster against Malong in search for a lasting peace with Juba regime. Malong accused them of breaching SSUF/A constitution by holding secret talks with the government.
